While visiting the area for a new home, we inadvertently found a new place for maintaining our 2003 Lexus. Prior to leaving our "Ol' Kentucky Home" for the Florida Sunshine State, we had the radiator replaced on our vehicle. Upon our arrival to the Vero Beach area, our car's thermostat was responding erratically. We scanned the Carfax certified independent auto repair business listing and wisely chose Viking Automotive Advisors. We chose Viking Automotive for a couple of reasons: first, for being Carfax certified; second, for the number of years in business; and third, because of the number of positive reviews by long-time customers. My husband spoke with Kathy and she politely and respectfully guided us through the entire process for diagnostic scheduling, parts and labor estimation, and repair time-frame. She even referred us to a local car rental for a really reasonable daily rental rate. All in all, Kathy and the Viking Automotive repair staff underpromised and over-delivered on their repair services. The final costs for repairs was even within their quoted estimate. We anticipated a longer repair time and contracted for a longer car rental period. Because of Viking Automotive Advisors' swift and thorough service, we not only saved on the auto repair costs due to their reasonable rates, especially compared to dealership repair fees, we were able to turn in our rental car a day early. We are still searching for our new house in Vero Beach. However, our car has found its new and permanent home for vehicle maintenance and repairs in Viking Automotive Advisors. One last note. At the beginning of this review, I mentioned we had the radiator replaced on our Lexus prior to our long, long trip from Kentucky to Florida. Well, because we were new to the area, and many repair shops nearby were already closed at that time on a Saturday, we paid a dealership for diagnostics of what we suspected to be a thermostat problem. Unfortunately, the dealership could not diagnose the problem until the following Monday. This was to our advantage as it gave us time to further research and review the local repair businesses for a second opinion. My point? It never hurts to obtain a second opinion. We figured correctly when we suspected we would not be able to afford dealership repair prices. However, the Viking Automotive Advisors' staff did not just follow the dealership's findings. Viking Automotive performed their own completely thorough diagnostics and revealed the radiator had been improperly installed and additional leaks and previous shoddy repairs had been made requiring the replacement of parts that, had these not been replaced, would have been detrimental to our car in the near future. Viking repair staff provided us with not only photographic evidence, but a container of the parts that replaced during the repair process. We could not be happier as we drove our 2003 Lexus LS430, with 187k miles and cool cabin temps, off of the lot and onto our next Florida adventure. Yes, we will definitely be returning to Viking Automotive Advisors for scheduled oil changes, tune-ups, and whatever may come up for our golden retirement vehicle.
