I had taken my truck to a high-end service center for years thinking that very high prices equaled quality service. At each service interval they kept telling me they were watching a transmission leak but no problem yet. Wondering why they would “watch” a leak rather than fix it, I bought my truck to Viking for second opinion. Turns out the transmission leak they were watching was one they had caused by cross-threading one of the transmission bolts and using silicone as a gasket rather than an approved gasket specified for that truck. Viking was able to clean the silicone off, install a correct gasket and use a different bolt to bypass the cross-threaded issue. My transmission is leak free.
